This engine was introduced into NASCAR Cup racing in 2012. This design was based off the Ford FR9 Carbureted engine platform.

Our highly skilled and experienced team collaborate with team owners, drivers and crew chiefs to achieve championship results. The Roush Yates Engines team members are electronic calibration experts and are focused on optimizing engine and fuel strategies.
As part of the Ford FR9 engine program, engines are leased to teams and engines are delivered for every race. This unique and fast paced approach allows for delivering the latest in cutting edge technology for the races.
